One Direction’s Zayn Malik has proved himself to be the perfect son-in-law by buying a new house for the Mum of his fiancée Perrie Edwards.
The One Direction heartthrob has reportedly splashed out more than £200,000 on a new home in Dorset for the Little Mix singer’s mum Debbie.
Perrie, 20, was allegedly going to help Debbie out with a mortgage after her Mum said she was keen to move from South Shields, Tyne and Wear, to the southern county. But then Zayn, 21, stepped in.
The average price of a property in Dorset is £273,071, up 2.3 per cent during the past year, according to Zoopla.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Debbie has been saying how she’s got a new house. Perrie was going to get the mortgage for her and then Zayn offered to buy it outright.
“She is just moving stuff in now. It costs more than £200,000 and is a new build.”
Zayn and Perrie have been dating for two years after meeting when One Direction performed on The X Factor – which Little Mix eventually went on to win – with the Bradford-born singer popping the question in August 2013.
The source added: “He’s a really nice chap for buying the house. It’s a lovely gesture ahead of their wedding. He gets on really well with her family.”
Zayn and his One Direction bandmates – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – were recently named the richest boyband in British music history.
According to The Sunday Times Rich List, the chart-topping quintet have amassed a combined fortune of £70m since shooting to fame on The X Factor in 2010.
